Cognitive activities that stimulate brain function can help. For example, music is known to stimulate the brain on a deeper level, leaving to improvements in mood. The brain is known to correlate memories and feelings with certain melodies, which can also offer lucid moments of remembering, even if for a short while.

We also ensure that our residents remain a part of community as social engagement is known to help keep the mind engaged and reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.

Dementia begins with mild forgetfulness that one might associate with normal aging. As the disease progresses, it can increase that forgetfulness, making it more difficult to stay on track or communicate.
